Pet Policy

BV Basecamp Pet Policy

We understand that pets are family, and we welcome responsible pet ownership within our community. To ensure the comfort and safety of all residents, the following pet policy applies:

Allowed Pets

• Dogs: Only one (1) dog per unit is permitted, weighing 40 lbs or less.

  • All dogs must be certified under the AKC Canine Good Citizen (CGC) program or hold an equivalent behavioral certification demonstrating good conduct and obedience. Certification documentation must be submitted prior to move-in or pet approval.

• Cats: Cats are not explicitly prohibited. Approval will be considered on a case-by-case basis, subject to temperament, prior rental history, and a pet interview (if required by management).

General Requirements

• All pets must be:

  • House-trained.

  • Licensed and vaccinated per local laws.

  • Non-aggressive toward people and other animals.

• Pets must be registered with management. Required documentation includes:

  • Proof of vaccination.

  • Certification (for dogs).

  • A current photo of the pet.

Behavior & Supervision

• Pets must be leashed or in a carrier at all times when outside the apartment and within common areas.

• Residents must promptly clean up after their pets and dispose of waste in designated receptacles.

• Aggressive behavior, excessive noise, or property damage caused by a pet may result in revocation of pet privileges.

Fees & Deposits

• A refundable pet deposit of $500 is required.

• A monthly pet rent of $50 will be charged per approved pet.

Breed Restrictions

• Bully breeds are strictly prohibited, regardless of certification or temperament.

• For the purpose of this policy, "bully breeds" include, but are not limited to:

  • American Pit Bull Terrier

  • American Staffordshire Terrier

  • Staffordshire Bull Terrier

  • American Bulldog

  • Bullmastiff

  • Cane Corso

  • Presa Canario

  • Dogo Argentino

  • Any mixed breed exhibiting dominant physical or behavioral traits of these breeds

Breed identification may be verified using veterinary records or a third-party DNA analysis if requested by management.

Service Animals

• Only Certified Service Animals as defined by applicable federal and state law are permitted.

• Certified Service Animals are not subject to pet fees, weight limits, breed restrictions, or behavioral certifications.

• Documentation may be requested where legally permitted to verify service animal status.
